 Article I - Organization - The name of our club shall be called the Kentucky Krawlers
- The club shall be called this unless it is presented by vote for in new business. Therefore, a unanimous vote shall have to be incurred to change the name.
Article II - Purposes of the club - The purpose of the Kentucky Krawlers is to be a safe, OHV (Off highway vehicle) club. This club will promote a family atmosphere at all times on the trails. Club members and all family members are encouraged to attend our rides, dinners, parties, or anything else that club is involved with. One of the main goals of the club is to always remember to have fun!
Article III - Membership, Dues, and Rules - Membership dues and rules
- Membership dues shall be determined by the Executive Committee, which will include all fees for the Trailkeepers Organization.
- Membership Types
- Individual Membership: A membership for a single person, which has a single vote.
- Household Membership: Membership for multiple people in a single household, however this membership still allows for one vote.
- The following vehicle rules/requirements were set by the club:
- Vehicle Requirements
- Tow hooks, or a tow point available (front and rear).
- Minimum of liability insurance on your vehicle.
- No alcohol at any club ride.
- Seatbelts for all passengers are required.
- No chains for tow straps. No metal hooks on ends of straps.
- Full size or close size spare tire.
- Recommended Accessories
- Fire extinguisher
- CB
- First Aid kit
- Membership will be allowed in other similar 4x4 groups. If guests attend our ride from other organizations, they will be required to follow our rules for a safe trail ride.
- All Kentucky Krawlers members will be part of the Trail Keepers organization at the TK’s current rate.
- Membership will run a calendar year, from January 1st to December 31s
- Members will be required to sign a waiver.
- KY Krawlers will have Limited Liability Insurance
- Trail rules and consequences
- (Previously stated) No alcohol at club rides.
- No illegal drugs at club rides.
- No behavior that would be unsafe for anyone on a ride.
- (Previously stated) Seatbelts for all passengers are required.
- Consequences
- Consequences for alcohol or drugs on a club ride are as followed: First time offense - You are asked to leave the club ride and the club. You must contact the executive committee to explain yourself and the committee will decide whether or not the offender should be voted back in.
Article IV - Meetings - The club has predetermined that our meetings shall be held on a quarterly basis.
- The place of the meeting will be open to suggestion, but finalized by the members of the executive committee. The executive committee includes the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Trail Boss.
- The executive board can call special meetings at any given time at their discression.
- No less than 20% of the members shall constitute a quorum and shall be necessary to conduct business of the club.
- Meeting time and place for the 4 quarterly meetings will be decided upon by the first of the year.
Article V - Voting - At all meetings, except for election of officers, all votes shall be by voice. For election of officers, ballots shall be provided for election.
- At any meeting, special or regular, if any topic is questionable, it will be put to a vote unless special circumstances occur. The rule is as stands as the club voting on the issue at hand.
- Special circumstances would be if less than 20% of the members were present at a meeting, and an issue needed to be voted on before the next meeting. Or a topic came about that needed to be put to a vote before a meeting could be held.
Article VI - Order of Business - Reading of the minutes of the previous meeting.
- Reports of the executive board.
- Old and unfinished business.
- New business.
- Announcements.
- Adjourning
Article VII - Officers - The officers of the club shall be as followed:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Trail Boss
- The President
- The President shall preside at club meetings.
- The President shall see all minutes, records, and monies that have anything to do with the club.
- The President shall be one of the officers to sign a check for the club.
- The President can designate people to be in committees as the club sees fit.
- The President will see that all club rides are safe for all members.
- The President makes up the first person in the executive committee.
- The Vice President
- The Vice President shall take over duties of the President in the absence of the President. An example would be if a club ride occurs that the President is not able to attend, the Vice President would take full responsibility as if he/she was the appointed President.
- The Vice President will also be allowed to see all minutes, records, and monies that have anything to do with the club.
- The Vice President makes up the second person in the executive committee.
- The Secretary
- The Secretary shall keep the minutes for each meeting and keep the records in an appropriate manner.
- The Secretary will serve all notices to the members of the organization.
- The Secretary will read the minutes of the previous meeting at each meeting.
- The Secretary will take roll of members present at each meeting.
- The Secretary will take note of any volunteer hours that a club member participates in.
- The Secretary makes up the third member of the executive committee.
- The Treasurer
- The Treasurer shall have the care and custody of all monies belonging to the organization.
- If money is needed to buy something for the club, the Treasurer could okay the purchase with two other of the executive committee’s approval.
- The Treasurer shall present a report of expenditures and money collected at each quarterly meeting.
- The Treasurer makes up the fourth member of the executive committee.
- Trail Boss
- The Trail Boss will be in charge of trail rides along with elders of the club. If the Trail Boss cannot attend, then an officer or elder of the club will take charge.
- The Trail Boss can designate different people to be in charge of different groups on the trail ride.
- The Trail Boss will oversee all activity on the trail ride to ensure safety. If accidents happen, it is not the Trail Boss’ fault. The Trail Boss is just there to lend a helping hand from years of experience to the ride to make things safer and more fun for all.
- The Trail Boss will try to plan club rides ahead of time and put together a calendar. More rides and trips will occur, but the Trail Boss is in charge of putting together a set number of rides for the club to plan for.
- A term of office shall run from January 1st to December 31st for each member of the executive member.
Article VIII - Amendments to the Bylaws - Amendments to the Bylaws can be made at any given time at a club meeting.
- Amendments to the Bylaws must be voted in by 100% of a constituted quorum after the proposed bylaws are approved.
