86 CJ7 Restoration Recommendations

Post by 8_Titles » Wed Oct 31, 2018 6:08 pm

New to the board so don’t slay me if there is some secret handshake I don’t know about. I have a 86 CJ7 that’s been in the family since 1988. Its all original except engine (has a V8 now) but it does need some body work, paint and I would like to upgrade brakes, suspension, etc. to get it road worthy and trail capable. I live in Lexington and was curious if there were any good shops that could take on some or all of the work? I have an engine guy in Bardstown that I could take the engine to but wouldn’t mind to let one shop do it if capable. I’m not looking for a V3 full resto, just enough to get it where I can start to play with it and maybe add a few mods here and there. I appreciate any and all advice. Thanks!
