That's right. The way it is now, if the kids are in there we don't have room for a cooler or tools and the recovery bag goes in the passenger floor board.

Finally got working on the old hag!
I started with the rear since it is the lesser of the two evils. Surprisingly the wider PBR's clear pretty well. I took the corner guards and rockers off to start. Tomorrow I plan to weld in the c-pillar to frame connectors.

Lots of progress! What's the deal with the harness? Did you have an issue, or just getting rid of unused circuits?

Just stripping out the unused circuits. I've got a 5 gallon bucket full of wire that I've removed.

Expensive jungle gym!
IMG_3967.jpg
Added a cowl seal plate so that the electronics behind the dash panels will be in some what of a water resistant-ish environment.
IMG_4007.JPG
I had to cut out the dash structure that did support the steering wheel column to make way for gauges, so I made a clamp that is welded to the lower dash bar.

The start of the dash!!! My original plan (6 years ago) was to have a dash similar to an old CJ with a single round gauge in the middle, then I saw the price of the aftermarket combination gauge... But at least the dash is flat and set back against the firewall. And the wife is so excited to finally be getting a dash to cover up the ugly cowl!

Looks great. I'm impressed with the dual use as a jungle gym for the kiddos when you're not on the trail.

Time for an update. Finished up the dash, added in a high/low beam relay, Icom radio installed, seats and harnesses installed.

I made some adjustments and new front balloon tires are clearing.

The CHEAP dif cover was smashed in to the point of rubbing on the ring gear again. So the wife decided to surprise me with an early anniversary gift. :rock
